More North Coast!! Why? Cuz we can’t get enough. We explored the lovely lil town of Pescadero and its dramatic coastline with these two lovers back in May (yes, we are that behind on blogging). Their two furry children tagged along, which we always love and encourage … here’s just a taste of what we came away with! Can’t wait for their wedding which is [fast] approaching in November!!
We can’t say enough times how much of a crazy honor it is to photograph weddings. As this wonderful couple’s first dance song says, “this is powerful stuff”. It sure is. We had the total honor of capturing Chelsey + Eric’s celebration earlier this season at the stunning Devine Ranch in Aptos. Everything about this wedding was incredibly inspiring – the location, the way the day played out, their ridiculously adorable dog (warning, there are a lot of dog photos), the DRESS, and the fact that C + E are super crazy in love. These guys, their friends, and family are what you would call “good people” and we had a friggin blast. We hope you enjoy a crapload of our favorites …
And for inquiring minds, the sweet florals were prepared by Tessa’s Garden … event planning by The Foundre … and seriously one of the most impeccably iced cakes we’ve ever seen by the infamous Buttery.
THIS wedding … was so much friggin FUN, like loads of fun. JK + Geneva wanted their friends and family to have an all around incredible time at their celebration, and as such they arranged an entire weekend of wedding goodness up at Camp Kennolyn in the Soquel mountains, where there was no shortage of campfires, games, food, personalized sunglasses, DANCING, and belly laughter … in fact, this was the first time that we witnessed an entire family bum-rush the dance floor when the DJ played their family song (Burning Down the House by the Talking Heads, for the curious readers out there!) We immediately clicked with these guys and were totally honored to document their crazy fun celebration. Some of our favorites below …
We have been chomping at the bit to share this shoot. And we have so much to say about it, more than you probably want to read, so instead here it is in a nutshell (aka, a list):
1. San Francisco is one seriously radical city. We often forget. Holy mackerel.
2. Amish + Megan are two seriously radical people. Megan’s chartreuse dress and Amish’s bowtie were amazeballs.
3. Traditions are awesome. Photographing them is even more awesome (cannot WAIT for the wedding sari’s and henna come October…)
4. Oh ya, Amish + Megan are crazy in love and they didn’t stop laughing the entire time! And Megan has one of the most contagious, warm, really-mean-it laughs we’ve heard in a while. Similarly, Amish’s smile says “Hey you! Come be my friend!” We loved these guys right away.
5. As beautiful as fog filled coastlines and multicolored wildflowers can be, a gritty urban landscape is pretty darn spectacular in its own right, and we gotta give a HUGE thanks to these guys for getting us up to SF and adding something new to our body of work.
We hope you enjoy a TON of our favorites from this truly special shoot, cuz hey, we couldn’t choose just a few …
PS- Our outta-this-world talented gal pal Kelly Jones did Megan’s gorgeous makeup 😉
One of the many things we love about weddings is that they bring families together and are often steeped in awesome traditions. What stuck out most to us at Rick + Natalie’s wedding was the abundance of family members, family traditions, and all around family greatness! Not only were most of the [MANY] attendees related to the super sweet bride + groom, but the couple married at the groom’s great grandfather’s estate, Rancho Don Bosco, which he conceptualized and created as a gathering place for his kids, their kids, and their kids’ kids – an honest to goodness family man. The estate is really spectacular and has since become available to the public for weddings!! Everything about this celebration was so special, we hope you enjoy our take on it!
Life can be wildly serendipitous sometimes. We met this sweet, warmhearted, radical couple through our beloved furry children, when we happen to recognize their precious Juneau on a beach walk as the dog we almost adopted when we rescued her orange-blue-eyed sister, Skye (if that sounds confusing, you can read the longer version of the story here). Needless to say, we were beyond honored they chose us and we were super excited for their wedding, which was the perfect amazing mash up of sacred traditions-meets-gut busting fun-meets-sweet emotions-meets rocking music festival!! Maybe the photos will do a better job at summing up their AWESOME celebration. We really truly love these guys. What a great friggin day.
